Water management is not only about managing excess water. It is also about making the best use of available water during periods of drought and moisture limitation.
Irrigation and Drainage are Complementary Tools
As irrigation development continues to expand across Saskatchewan, irrigation cannot perform effectively without proper drainage. Together, drainage and irrigation help producers manage soil moisture, improve water-use efficiency, support crop performance, and respond proactively to Saskatchewan’s variable weather and growing conditions.
The SK DEN Irrigation Hub is being developed to connect the excellent irrigation knowledge, research, tools, and resources already available across Saskatchewan.
Rather than duplicating the work of trusted organizations, the Hub will help users find, understand, and navigate information from key sources including the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, Water Security Agency, and Irrigation Saskatchewan—all in one connected place.
