The Saskatchewan Drainage Extension Network, or SK DEN, has always been about connection: connecting producers, researchers, industry, municipalities, government, and technical experts around practical agricultural water management in Saskatchewan.

That work is not new. Across the province, important conversations are already happening about drainage, irrigation, soil health, field efficiency, water-use efficiency, policy, technology, and long-term watershed resilience. SK DEN exists to help bring those conversations together and turn knowledge into something more accessible, practical, and useful for people working on the land and around agricultural water systems.

The new SK DEN website provides a central place to share resources, highlight people and partners, promote events, and continue building a stronger knowledge network for agricultural water management in Saskatchewan. It is designed to grow over time as more research, tools, demonstrations, and practical information become available.

A major focus of the site is the AG Water Hub.

The Hub is being developed as a resource base for Saskatchewan-focused agricultural water management information. It currently begins with drainage and irrigation, two connected parts of the same larger water system. Drainage helps manage excess water. Irrigation helps make the best use of available water during dry periods and moisture-limited conditions. Together, they are part of a broader conversation about resilient landscapes, productive fields, responsible planning, and informed decision-making.

The AG Water Hub is intended to become THE place where producers, municipalities, researchers, industry professionals, and government staff can find practical information, technical resources, beneficial management practices, research updates, demonstration site content, and links to trusted sources.

The Hub is also meant to reduce duplication. Saskatchewan already has strong expertise across organizations, agencies, companies, farms, and research institutions. The Hub will help connect that knowledge so people can find it, understand it, and use it more easily.

This first version of the website is only the beginning. More resources will be added. More partner knowledge will be shared. More events, demonstrations, case studies, and technical guidance will be connected through the site. As SK DEN continues to grow, the AG Water Hub will grow with it.

Thanks for visiting the new SK DEN website: please take a moment to explore version 1 of the Hub, and check back often. There is much more to come.
